What does it mean to be Inclusive?

Throughout this semester, we have discussed different sites and experiences based on inclusiveness, but what does it really mean to be inclusive? By definition is means, "including the stated limit or extremes in consideration or account" (dictionary.com), however in our field, it is necessary to apply this to humans. With regards to recreation, being to be inclusive means to make recreation accessible to all social classes in terms of money and transportation, all races, ethnicities and religions, and all ages genders and sexual orientations. Without being inclusive in one of these areas means that you are not fully inclusive. However, this is not always a bad thing depending on the type of recreation that is being done. But being inclusive goes beyond just the activity itself, we as rec. majors also need to be sure that we are inclusive as well, meaning we carry no preferences or bias' to any of these factors. Again, without being inclusive in all aspects, we cannot be fully inclusive.
